    Default program for text editing

I Always had Uedit as my default text editor, then suddenly after the October updates, it defaults to Notepad EEK, and I cannot change it? Not by set defaults or file properties or open with, it accepts my change but does nothing I am stuck with notepad, I tried changing to Word 2010, Notepad++ all to no avail!, I have reloaded my 14 October system image twice, but within few hours the notepad default is back.

    Please help.

Feature Request : Editable Spoiler Tag Text

I think this was mentioned before, but I would like to suggest it again.
Would you (W1zz) modify the spoiler tag so the text in the button is editable?

Something like If no text is set, it just defaults to the text "Spoiler".
It would mean dynamically resizing the button to contain the length of the text, but a string length limit could be set.

I would find this very useful for some programming guides I am working on (they get a little long) and may be more descriptive for the BST threads if they could do something like
Anyone else think this would be helpful?

    Choose Default Program not working

This is the case for an XML file but also .inf files, which are all text files, can be opened once with a text editor but after that it is not possible to change the editor using the steps you provide.

It is possible to select a text editor under Choose Default Program but as the select box is not displayed it is not possible to make the selection stick.

Could someone add this to the bugs list of explorer? Thanks!

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done Default program for text editing :) I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.
