Windows 10: Audio sync problem develops with YouTube but not with Vimeo.

I just set up a new computer and everything is wonderful except for the audio on YouTube. As mentioned in the Subject, I don't have the problem when watching Vimeo. The audio starts out fine with YouTube but gradually gets ahead of the video. The longer the video, the worse the problem.


I don't want to put out any red herrings but my new computer has an SSD, whereas my old one had a regular HDD. Sorry if I'm not giving much info but I can't imagine what it could be, aside from that so I don't know what to provide. I have Bose computer speakers plugged into the headphone port on the computer, as I did on my old computer.

Audio is out of sync on browsers


Sorry I have been away on business for a while.

I am still having the problem of the audio being out of sync on youtube. I have upgraded to the latest version of Firefox (57) as well as upgrading Opera and Chrome. The problem is still there. I start playing a video on youtube and after a minute or so the audio starts going out of sync, to the extent that the audio is about 2-3 seconds ahead of the video.

I thought, initially, that it had to be the fault of Firefox. But after trying it out with Opera and Chrome and encountering the same problem, I decided to run last test and decided to watch youtube on a different program.

I wanted to be absolutely sure that the problem lay with windows, so I used Gom Player Pro to stream a youtube video. I did this several times, and each time I got the same result. The audio went out of sync after a minute or so.

I am at a bit of a loss as to what to do. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Crossfire sync problem

thank you for all the responses.

I enable vsync in the advanced tab of ccc but it doesn't help.

It's happening now in mass effect 2 which is unreal but it also happens in civilization 4 and pirates(an old game).

I don't think it's my display or a cable because when I don't enable crossfire I never have the problem.

My next step is to change the cards around to see if it's my linked card that's the problem.

Qubit is correct it looks like a video sync problem. Like when the traking is of on a VCR.

audio issues: VLC play a video with no sound and YouTube shows an error

If VLC plays a video with no sound (and you've it on), then either:

• it's a problem with your video audio codec (reinstall VLC or codecs),
  
• it's a problem with you sound drives; if so, reinstall them, upgrade or revert to stable once.
  

If YouTube fails with:

you need to should:

• check for HTML5 compatibility issues,
  
• try restarting your browser,
  
• try different browser (e.g. Brave, Firefox, Waterfox, Epic, Opera, Safari, etc),
  
• force browser to fallback to flash video playing,
  
• reinstall/upgrade your Flash plugins,
  
• try different sites such as Vimeo.
