Windows 10: failed to decompress the archives

I try to install epson xp257 and only get failed to decompress the archives. According to epson, they have no problem with the file, it is a common problem with windows 10. How do I solve it.

Since the error message is referring to "Failed to Decompress the Archive", it maybe referring to the winzip file that you have downloaded. That said,
we suggest that you run the winzip file as administrator and see if it'll make a difference.
Right-click on the file, and choose Run as Administrator. We also suggest that you provide us a screenshot of the error message and the winzip file that you've downloaded. It's for us to identify as well what could be the next step/s that we
can do.

I had a random problem with my printer that was working fine. After speaking to Epson support they advised I uninstall and reinstall using their links. when I tried reinstalling the printer I got the error message Failed to Decompress the Archive. Epson
advised that I needed to download winzip as this was causing the problem which I did but still got the same message. Epson then said I should approach Microsoft as it was a problem with them. Any help appreciated!

 

kgb archiver decompression time.

hey... i found while decompressing a file of 64kb(originally 640mb) that it requires 16 hours to decompress... i have 2gb ram installed on my processor "genuine inter(R) CPU T2300@1.66GHz 1.67GHz". is it usually take such a long time?
