  1. WiFi Connection drops on entering matches in some Steam games

    Hello

I have been playing games on Steam for quite some time now and never had this problem till a couple days ago. I have a router for the modem provided by my college because I'm in a hostel. The ping when I'm in game is always below 100, usually in the 20-40 range. I earlier had no problem playing games like CS:GO and PES 2019 on Steam using my WiFi Router. The speed is around 50 mbps usually so that's not a problem either. Youtube videos play seamlessly @1080p60 quality.

There are no disconnections when I'm watching YouTube. I've watched long videos continuously keeping an eye on the connection to make sure. But now when I start playing a match in PES 2109 or CS:GO, my WiFi connection drops within 2 mins. Sometimes it drops in 10 seconds, sometimes it takes longer, but the connection drop is inevitable.

The game first stops, then disconnects. When I check WiFi in the lower bar, there is no connection to any WiFi networks. The device then auto-connects again to the WiFi in a minute or so. This connection drop isn't device-specific as I check if my phone is connected to the WiFi, but it loses connection too!

    Any advice/suggestions are appreciated.

    Thank you

    :)

Since, you have disabled the firewall but still you cannot enter the match, we suggest to contact Steam Support for further assistance.

Internet drops whenever I play a steam game

I'm having this weird issue on my new Laptop. Whenever I play a Steam game that's connected to the internet (e.g. Rocket League or Slay The Spire with Twitch Integration enabled) my internet seems to drop below 1 Mbit/s up and down. This seems to only affect my Laptop though. The Internet connection for e.g. my Phone is still stable. I'm using WiFi for both.
This seems to happen only for games I bought on Steam. However, I don't have to start them through Steam for my internet to drop. E.g. Starting Slay The Spire through the jar with Twitch Integration enabled also causes the internet to drop. If Twitch Integration is disabled, no drop happens.

Also testing with MoonLighter yielded the following result: Starting the game normally causes the internet to drop. However, if I block the Game in the Windows Firewall, the internet connection is unaffected if I open the game.

Speedtest on my Laptop with no Steam game open:
    Screenshot
    (26.7 Mbit/s down / 9.01 Mbit/s up)

Speedtest with RocketLeague open (Only in the Main Menu without joining a game):
    Screenshot (0.53 Mbit/s down / 0.20 Mbit/s up)

After googling a bit I found this tip that states turning off flow control is a potential fix. This did not work for me.

My Laptop has two different Network adapters: Intel (R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

If anyone knows a way to fix this or why it is happening please speak up. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Windows 10 Steam game crashes

    Hi,

To assist you better, I would like to ask some questions:

    • Does the issue occur only with Steam games or all games?
    • Are you able to view videos?
    • What is the make and model of your computer?

I suggest you to update the Graphic Card driver by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters.
    • Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.

Keep us posted on the status for further assistance.
