Windows 10: Win 10 how to reset display resolution without being able to see screen

Hi,


I've recently purchased a PC with Win 10 Pro pre-installed and have inadvertently set the monitor's screen resolution too high and am getting a blank screen with only a "signal out of range" message displayed when I boot.

How can I change the resolution when I boot the PC without being able to use the screen? I gather that "Safe Mode" access has changed considerably with Win 10...this seems like a flaw!

  Do you see any error message or error code on the screen?

  What is the model of your computer?

  Are you able to access the modern apps?
  

I suggest you to update the Display Adapter Drivers

Step 1: Update the Display Adapter driver.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right on the Display Adapter and click on
  Update driver software.

Step 2: Please follow the below steps to change the resolution of the screen and check:

• Type Change screen resolution in the
  Search box from the desktop.
• Under Resolution search for the Recommended resolution and click on
  Apply.
• A windows pops up saying "Keep these display settings", then select
  Keep changes.

It is important that you have the correct screen display and resolution. We suggest that you perform the following steps to reset the monitor settings:

• Boot your computer in
  safe mode.
• Once in safe mode, right-click the desktop > Screen Resolution.
• Change the display settings back to the original configuration.
• Restart your computer.

Laptop Screen Resolution Windows 10

Hi,

We suggest you to update the Display Adapter Drivers.

Step 2: Kindly follow the below steps to change the resolution of the screen and check:

•

  Under Resolution search for the Recommended resolution and click on Apply.

  A windows pops up saying "Keep these display settings", then select Keep changes.
  

There will be a recommended resolution for all the computers, and if you select more than the recommended resolution the screen would not support for that.
