  2. connecting printer to router

hello all, im having a couple questions about setting a printer up on a router, is there a way that a printer can be set up just on a router, i have family that uses a laptop and wants to use without having to turn the desktop on, are there any devices that can do this??? i have heard of like turning a usb cable into a wireless connection, or even just into a ethernet connection,

    any thoughts greatly welcome
    thanks again

printer problems after connecting new router

    Hi,

I had my laptop hooked up with my wireless printer and everything worked beautifully. Then, the cable company sent us a new router for an upgrade and once we installed that which required a new password, we hooked it up and the computers worked and the
printer did too, HOWEVER, I have to turn the printer on and off each time I come home from work and plug my laptop back in. I check the printer; it's on and wirelessly connected. I check my computer, it's connected, but when I try to print, it says the printer
is offline. When I tried running through the link to fix the printer, it says the printer needs turned on which it already is. So, I have to get up, turn it off, wait, and then turn it back on. Then, it magically starts working again. Any suggestions to
    stop these crazy extra steps??

    Thanks,

    Deb
