  1. Serious Problem: Safest Place To Find Apps?

    Hello,

I didn't want to create a thread about this as I know there are so many people that need help on here, but this is a deeply concerning topic for me.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro and Windows Defender and it's fully updated, but I still worry.

For example, it seems so easy for an app I install to have a "backdoor" to the app author online and collect data about me like the family letters or my financial information I store in apps on my Windows 10 Pro PC.

I haven't downloaded a new app in a longggg time so this is a real problem for me and it's holding me back.

    Thank you.

    :)

  2. Market Place update problems

We've encountered this problem before and Microsoft Support offered a solution ( deleting the app, removing the battery
for 30-60 seconds and then reinstalling the app is what worked for me):

For the symptoms you are describing, I would suggest the following steps:

    • Delete the app from the Phone by tapping and holding on the app and then tapping “delete”.
    • Go back to Marketplace and reinstall the app.
    If that doesn’t work:

    • Turn off the phone, remove the battery for 30 - 60 seconds, replace the battery and restart the phone. Removing the battery may not be absolutely necessary but I don't want to tell you to try it later Serious Problem: Safest Place To Find Apps? :)
    • Repeat the first 2 steps above.

Serious Problem: Safest Place To Find Apps?

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
