Windows 10: My Two year Asus laptop, is dead after a failed Microsoft upgrade

I asked a question about my Asu's laptop going to the Bios screen, then going dead, after the battery had died down, it started again in the Bios screen, a friend who is a systems whiz, has determined the hard drive is fried.


Any compensation available from Microsoft?


My situation is that I am currently looking for work, and need a computer to find a job, I had to scrounge around to get a new laptop, Im going to be very weary of MS upgrades in the future.

two reasons possible paths one the drivers are messed up or the battery is dead. Give me the model number of your asus laptop and I'll link you the correct drivers to update and resolve this issues, UNLESS your computer is more than 3 years old then it
may be a dead battery.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried Windows Defender and discovered it was not turned on and when I tried to turn it on it would quickly turn itself off again. I used another anti-virus program to check out the laptop but it found no problem. Obviously this laptop has some problems.

My next step is to put the original drive back into the machine and try the Windows 10 upgrade from that and if that also fails do a restore of this laptop to the original Windows 7.
