I click on "Connect Automatically" but the checkmark disappears.

I click on "Connect Automatically" but the checkmark disappears right after I connect. I tried forgetting the network (SSID), but the same thing keeps happening. In order to connect after I boot, I have to specifically go to that network and click on "Connect."

    Internet "Connect Automatically" stopped working

Every time I wake my computer or reboot, even though I have my 2.4GHz channel checked to "Connect Automatically," the checkmark disappears and I have to connect manually. Any ideas? Thank you.

  3. After 1703, laptop no longer automatically connects wirelessly

Last week I went from 1607 to the CU 1703 and for some reason my HP ProBook laptop doesn't connect automatically to the network as it did before.
I can see the connection in Action Center and it say's connect automatically ( with a checkmark beside it ) but I now have to manually click on the SSID which is listed to get the network.
I went into the wireless adapter and made sure that it was checkmarked to connect automatically, and it is.
Bottom line, I can access the net by clicking on my SSID manually but it no longer does it automatically like it did on all previous versions of W10. It's just an annoyance and a mystery so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there is something I can change to get it to connect as it did previously.
    Thanks

Green checkmark on some destop icons

Kiran, these icon checckmarks appear and disappear on my desktop icons, sometimes every few seconds. They seem to occur on icons that are shortcuts, apps, and folders. Playing with carbonite and manually backing up seemed to make these icon checkmarks
    disappear and shortly re-appear.

Accessing the shortcuts links, apps associated with these checkmarked icons are not a problem.

I have also disabled Malwarebytes and rebooted. the checkmarks are gone. I re-enable Malwarebytes and I don't have any checkmarks at this point.

    I'll report back if/when these checkmarks re-appear.
