Windows 10: Kindle App not allowing registration?

Yo, so this is my first time doing this so please be gentle, heh--


Anyways, I downloaded the Kindle App off of Amazon's website and I've been having a lot of frustration with it. I'm trying to register the app at the moment, and every time I've come close to getting this thing done, when I get to the whole verification of my email thing? It suddenly decides to start spazzing out and the log-in window means that I'm seeing it constantly refresh, over and over, to the point where I can't enter my email or my password.


I've been scouring the internet for a solution on this little problem and I'm finding absolutely nothing.


I've tried disconnecting from the internet, restarting the app, restarting my laptop, uninstalling and reinstalling, doing a disk cleanup, turning off my anti-virus ( I use Avast ), and even going so far as to try a cmd prompt to see if that would fix it. I'd really prefer to find some way to read my books on my laptop instead of having to use my phone to do so or buying a new Kindle to read 'em on. ( The last one met with an untimely demise with my kitchen floor. Rest in peace, Tabby. I hardly knew ye. )


Anyways, if there's some workaround to this or something that I need to install to make this gosh dang app work, I'd super appreciate it. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Anyone have a Kindle or use Kindle App in Windows 10?

I think you are correct. Also if my memory is correct, books not stored locally on the tablet have a little cloud icon.

Amazon keeps a copy of your purchased book in their own "cloud" and you can re-download the book to authorized devices and software as many times as you need to without violating their terms of use agreement. Amazon also allows you to have several different devices the book can be on at the same time - you can run the Kindle app in Windows, a Kindle app on an Android device, and a true Kindle e-reader, all with the same book on it. However, you might have to go into device management on Amazon's website and clear out old devices if, for example, you reload Windows and the Kindle App and it gets detected as a new device.
