  2. None of the windows apps working

    When i try to open any windows app, like microsoft store or the xbox app, it always opens for a milisecond then immedietely crashes, I tried checking for updates and everything was up to date. I also tried redownloading the xbox app from browser since it wasn't working. when it downloaded it showed an error message (0x80040905).

  3. I updated my computer to the newest version of Windows, but now my Microsoft Store doesn't work

    I did everything it said, to no avail. The App still just opens and then immediately closes. The same thing happens with the xbox app. The xbox app gives me the error code 0x80040905. I have no idea what this means, and I'm just getting frustrated at this point cause it has been an ongoing issue for a couple days now. I can verify that I have the Package for the Windows Store using Powershell. It just doesn't open, along with Xbox app. I don't know what is going on since it immediately force closes itself as soon as it opens. I used wsreset.exe and it gives me an error that says "ms-windows-store0x80040905 :purgeCaches The app didn't start."

    Xbox App & Xbox Game Bar - Need a ~comprehensive~ fix

    Current state: when I try to open the Xbox app, the black splash screen appears for <1 second, and when I try to open the Game Bar, nothing happens.

    I need help from somebody who is extremely familiar with the Xbox App and Game Bar, and the inner workings of Windows 10.

    I need somebody to provide the ultimate complete comprehensive undeniable fix for Windows 10 Xbox App and Game Bar. This issue is far too common and the people deserve a fix.

    This is in depth and lengthy due to all the troubles I have gone through and things I have tried. Please forgive me for trying to avoid reinstalling Windows; I don't think I should have to completely refresh my operating system just to fix a few apps.

    I have tried many things: repairing, resetting, and fully uninstalling and reinstalling both apps, through PowerShell, Windows Settings, and with alternative uninstall and installation methods. I have tried every powershell command I could find related to the matter. I tried the Gaming Services Repair Tool script thing.

    Some of the powershell stuff I've done (in no particular order, other than obviously uninstalling all together, and attempting to reinstall through various methods subsequently):

    Get-AppXPackage *Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay | Remove-AppxPackage

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

    I tried to reinstall the game bar with this link, since it wouldn't appear in the Windows Store through search: Game Bar - Microsoft Apps

    I tried to reinstall the xbox app with this link, as well as through the Store: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/xbox-app-for-pc

    I got this error code after trying to install the xbox app through that link: 0x80040905

    Reinstalled Gaming Services through this Windows Store PowerShell command: start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    I performed a clean boot and ran this command: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    And this was the output (in red) that followed:

    Add-AppxPackage : Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073D02, The package could not be installed because resources it modifies are currently in use. error 0x80073D02: Unable to install because the following apps need to be closed MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS_1000.19058.1000.0_x64__cw5n1h2txyewy. (formatted for the sake of length; if unmodified version is needed, I can provide it)

    I then booted regularly and tried again, this time a small error popup appeared:

    "C:\Program Files\WinsowsApps\Microsoft.GamingApp_2406.1001.20.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
    Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

    I then successfully took ownership of that folder (Microsoft.GamingApp_2406.1001.20.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe) but the issue remains the same; when I try to open the Xbox app, the black splash screen appears for <1 second, and when I try to open the Game Bar, nothing happens.

    Something I found but have not yet tried:

    "The app can be force-reset by deleting its files from the user App Data folder (this is a hidden folder in your User account landing page, by default C:/Users/<username>/AppData). Look for the Microsoft and Packages folders under AppData/Local, and find folders named XBox or GameService. Trash them to bin in case they need to be recovered. Deleting these user specific field reset the XBox app in my case, though you risk nuking other apps' settings."

    Altogether I uninstalled Xbox, Xbox Accessories, Xbox Game Bar Widgets, Xbox Identity Provider, Xbox Live, Gaming UI, Microsoft.GamingServices

    before reinstalling Xbox, Game Bar, and Gaming Services.

    If there is a way to completely reset all Windows Apps, and it might help, I'd be willing to try it.

    I am willing to do any amount of testing and inputs and modifications and sfc/dism/anything literally at all in any specified order to fix this issue. Except, of course, reinstall Windows. Please help.
