    I'm trying to install python on my laptop but Its not working, it's showing 0x80070641 - the window installer service could not be accessed. I check the services.msc but I couldn't find window installer, I only found window modules installer, I've also tried to reg and unregistered in the cmd admin, it still doesn't work. I'm really frustrated and I don't know what to do anymore, pls help me out.

    Original title: Exe files dont work anymore

    The error that comes up is Error: 0x80070641 i remember i was trying to get an exe files to work an i messed with something called msiIntaller and now i cant install programs onto my windows 10 surface.

    Ok. SFC has restored the missing system files successfully, and the Windows Installer service is starting correctly.

    I hope that resolves the original issue as well -- i.e., Windows desktop runtime setup error 0x80070641
