Windows 10: 0x80070643 error with latest attempt to update. Is this just some microsoft screwup?

It is Windows 10. I did a check for an update yesterday and there were none so I was fully up to date.This morning I am getting an error. 0x80070643I ran the troubleshooter for updates. Didn't work. I restarted the computer which didn't fix things, but created a lot of work for me. I ran the Kapersky quick scan for something. Nothing found. I am going to run a full Kapersky scan next for creepy stuff. This is really annoying. Is this some stupid Microsoft problem. Why isn't this post going into the Windows 10 questions. I really hate Microsoft. Already I do more and more work on my phone. **

Try to apply the update manually As suggested by Microsoft. I just wrote a
step by step guide.

However be sure that the update itself is downloaded and that the installation part is failing, and not the downloading part.

Unable to update Windows 10 Pro version 1709 to 1803

Have made several attempts to update Windows 10 version 1709 to the latest version 1803 and have not been successful.

I've done the following per some suggestions found online:

• Updated drivers
• Ran the Trouble Shooter for Windows 10 (Errors found were shown to be "Fixed" per the tool)
• Unplugged the printer

Although not at every attempt, I have received the following errors:

• 0xc1900101
• 0x80070643

Can someone please advise me as to what the errors are and provide me with the steps to update Windows.
