Windows 10: 0x800f081f error when installing Wiondows update in Windows 10 64 bit

0x800f081f error when installing Windows update in Windows 10 64 bit. I've run the update troubleshooter. It couil;d not fix the error but suggested creating more space on the hard disk, which I did. Still the problem re-occurs.

Hi Folks,

Wondering if anyone can assist me. I recently disabled the meltdown and spectre update which came out in January as I didn't want to loose performance, as I run a firewall and paid anti-virus.

Since disabling that update I have been receiving fewer updates, and today I tried to install Cumulative Update "KB4074588", but when it tried to install the update I got "Error code 0x800f081f".

I have my Windows 10 updates set via the Group Policy Editor to only Notify me of updates that are available, not automatically download and install them.

Error code 0x800f081f looks like it relates to .NET Framework, and I was wondering how I fix it so I can install the update succesfully?

I am running Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit.

Error during iTunes installation in Windows 10 64 bits version

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

As you said that " it worked fine with 32-bit version", and there is a problem in installing in 64-bit version. But iTunes application is compatible with both the versions. There may be an issue with the PC which/iTunes application which is not supporting
the particular PC.

The error code which you have provided is related to Windows update.

I suggest you to run the Windows update troubleshooter and check if it helps.

You can follow the steps:

• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the search box present in the Taskbar.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select View all on the top left corner.
  
• 
  Run Windows update Troubleshooter.

If you receive Windows Update error 0x800f081f, it means that Windows Update cannot determine the cryptographic service provider, or a file that Windows Update requires (named catalog store) is corrupted.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
Step 1: Use System File Checker to repair damaged Windows files
Use the System File Checker tool to repair damaged Windows files, and then run Windows Update again. To do this, follow these steps:

• Open an elevated command prompt.
• Run the following command:
  sfc /scannow
• Try to install update again.

For more information about the System File Checker tool, view Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files.
Step 2: Run the DISM tool
If the problem continues, use the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool to fix Windows corruption errors. To do this, follow these steps:

• Open an elevated command prompt.

Important When you use the /online option, DISM uses Windows Update to provide the files that are required to fix corruptions. However, if Windows Update service is broken, don’t use the /online option. To do this, run the following command instead:
