Windows 10: 0x80240022 Error when installing Null Print drivers through Windows Update

Hi,I have multiple machines reporting errors installing these updates, and I normally wouldn't care so much as these are considered optional driver updates, but our RMM software gets its update status from the Windows Update service so any failure is reported endlessly. The model numbers are different across machines, but the commonality is the same, it fails to install these null print drivers. Upon further examination, the driver package is malformed and refuses to even run manually. The previous solution mentioned toward the end of this thread doesn't help as there are no Unknown Devices un

Error when trying to install printer with driver from Windows Update - error code 0x80240022, HRESULT 0x80240022

Hello, I have an older HP LaserJet 4000 printer with JetDirect interface card. I've successfully used this printer through the years with Windows XP, 7, 8.1, and 10. I just had to re-install windows on my desktop PC and installed Windows 10 1803. I cannot
get the printer to install. When I go through the process, I select "Windows Update" for the driver, then select the HP Laserjet 4000 PCL 5 driver. It then begins the install, gives me an elevation prompt asking if I want to install the driver. I select yes,
then it errors out about 5 seconds later say "Printer was not installed".

I looked in the event viewer and find this error:

OpCode: Spooler Operation Failed

I want to stress that this is not a 3rd party driver, but the actual Microsoft Driver off of Windows update. This worked a year ago on an older version of Win 10 (can't remember which at the moment)

What is my next step?

Windows 7 wont install drivers

i dont think anyone here understands what your asking either when its nearly a 90% english dominated Tech forum.
Step 1
reinstall windows from scratch
Step 2
install all drivers from the cd that came with the god damn motherboard *common sense*
Step 3
update windows
Step 4
install misc etc crap like flash java etc etc
Step 5
Install GPU drivers
Step 6
go back to using your pc without issue.
