Windows 10: 0xc0000142 error

I have an 0xc0000142 error when trying to open any office document after the latest microsoft update.


Have downloaded the Microsoft Support & Recovery Assistant & tried to use it & get the following opening 'Office' in which app you have a problem with:-

1. You can't use Office applications download, activation, etc. with this Office 365 account.

There aren't any licenses assigned to your Office 365 account. Talk to your admin about assigning a license to your account for Office applications.
Your subscription has the following available licenses that you could assign to this user: Office applications. For more information, see Assign a license.


Then tried the 'Advanced Diagnostics' then Office, tried Normal Robust Office Inventory Scan which did not work, then tried Full Robust Office Inventory Scan, had the following in both cases:-

1. We completed the scan and generated logs

Am no wiser to what this means or how to rectify the problem with Microsoft Office.


Going to try a reboot now but will send this first, you are probably aware that I am a novice with computer problems & I can see me taking it somewhere to resolve this.

I get that error when running a game but it was running normally at windows 7 before upgrading.
