Windows 10: 0xC1900101 - 0x30018 Error Upgrading to Windows 10

I posted a thread about whether or not I should purchase windows 10. after much debate, I took everyone's advice and purchased it. I was beginning to upgrade when it crashed about halfway through. I kept trying but I kept getting this error after it reverts back to windows 7

"The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP operation"

I googled and it has something to do with drivers but I'm going to have to basically uninstall ALL my drivers if I'm to find the right one cause of how many I have for different devices. Should I just do a clean install and just copy-paste my user folder from windows.old?

Are there any other fixes? Thanks in advance!

upgrade and install

While upgrading windows 7 to windows 10, I get error: 0XC1900101-0X30018

Save the windows.old folder, all of it, to a separate external drive. It will be erased on a clean install. It will be gone.

Follow the instructions for a clean install here:

Then you can copy the contents of your user folder from windows.old.

If it reverted back to Win 7, you could just backup/save the user folder in Win 7 to external, and copy it back from that.

Either way, save your user data, clean install, and copy the user data back.
