  1. 1 Gbps internet

I recently upgraded to 1 Gbps internet from 100/100 Mbps. Both of my computers run Win 10 Pro 64 bit systems. They are both connected via wifi and both have recorded speeds at around 100 Mbps using wifi. If I use an ethernet cable directly from the router I get almost 987 Mbps. Why the big discrepancy from wifi to hardwired? Can you buy a better wifi card or something to make the wifi match or be as close as possible to the ethernet connection?

    :)

You still have to deal with the transport of your data, from you to the IXP...
Then, the cost of the IXP's connection and bandwidth cost... and, so on.
Are you starting you own ISP?

Here is an example of the cost for just the IXP connection at Big Apple IXP:

Is it possible to share internet connection via remote desktop?

RDP is not capable of Internet sharing, so you can't share Internet using RDP with standard applications. There are many way to share Internet from a Windows box to another one. I suggest you to use VPN. You should do following steps:

    1. Run VPN Server on your server with unlimited internet access
    2. Connect to VPN server from your limited computer
