Windows 10: 1 laptop to play games and develop: how to keep it clean and performant?

So I recently bought a new laptop and I am going to use this device both to play games (and daily stuff) and to develop.

Now the thing is, setting up the complete environment in the machine can have an impact on its overall performance as Visual Studio, SQL Server and other dev tools can be quite heavy (resource demanding).

To avoid this in the past, I used to have a VirtualBox image with another Windows where I would install everything but... It is expensive to get a new license for the dev machine and:

I just want to check if there are other ways in which this can be achieved more efficiently

Step 2: douse laptop in gasoline.

Step 3: toss a burning match onto laptop.

Step 4: watch the fire clense your laptop.

 

Window 10 will not let me play my games....

To better assist you with this concern, kindly answer the following:

• Is this happening on one game only?
• Is this the first time you encountered this issue? If so, any changes made on the computer prior to this concern?

In the meantime, we suggest that you perform a
clean boot on the computer. Once done, try to play the game again and check if you will still experience the same issue.
