Windows 10: 1. PC not detecting my USB connected external hard drive. 2 Three audio devices not working...

1. My Buffalo HD LXU 3 external hard drive is powered on and connected to my PC but showing a red light. The PC is no linger detecting it. 2, I have the following three audio devices which are not working with my PC: Bose Companion 20 wired speakers Wired headphones with model no. ATH-AVC200 manufacturer's name not availableASUS BT-500 dongle for use with Bluetooth devices

My Seagate external hard drive is not detected when plugged in to USB port of my laptop using windows 10?

I have tried all the steps provided, however in vain. The external hard drive is not identified at all in any of the the USB ports when connected. The USB ports identify other external Flash drives and devices. However this drive is detected in another laptop
using Windows 7 OS. Please advise further.

I understand that the external hard drive is not recognized by the PC. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.
It would be great if you can answer these questions to assist you in a better way.

• Did you try connecting the Hardrive to different USB Port?
  
• Does the Hardrive get detected if you try connecting it to a different PC?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
  

I suggest you refer and follow the steps mentioned in the KB article and check if that resolves the issueError:
“USB Device not recognized” when you try to access a USB external hard drive

Note: Ignore method 2 & 5 from the above article.

Thanks for this. I've done what you suggested and been through all the steps mentioned in the article. The hard drive works fine on a Mac computer, and I've managed to copy the information on it. It must be a Surface issue so I'll try to get a chat line tomorrow.
