1 PC times out entire network

I have a desktop computer running Windows 10 that seems to be causing timed-out connections to all computers when it’s connected to the network. When I have this computer connected (via ethernet) to my router, I find that internet frequently drops out for all computers. This is verified by a ping of Google started on my MacBook. However, this affects my internet connection only, and doesn’t affect connections within my LAN. For example, even when Google is timed out, I can still transfer files fine between my MacBook and the Windows desktop. The reason I suspect my internet troubles has to due with the Windows desktop is that when I disconnect the desktop from my network, the internet connection becomes very stable on all my other computers.I just can’t figure why or how the Windows computer is affecting the internet not only for itself, but for all others on the network as well. Obviously, it can’t be as simple as something like an IP conflict, since that’d make the Windows desktop inaccessible to other machines on the LAN. I already tried restarting all the computers, router, and modem in my home. I also tried getting a new router, since I suspected some sort of strange incompatibility between the Windows desktop and my Airport router. But alas, the new Netgear router shows the exact same issue.

Homegroup Windows 10 issue Both PCs join but unable to access/drop files to one pc.

    Hi all,

Small network homegroup established. PC (1) is Visible to PC (2) and vice-versa. PC (1) has a single login and files are visible from PC (2). PC (2) has a main login in along with profiles established under the main login. When PC (1) tries to access any
files on PC (2) it times out and says it is not responding. When running troubleshooter it says that the configuration is correct may be a network issue. Well I know it is not a network issue and here is why 1) I can ping in both directions 2) homegroup establishment
was successful and a shared folder was created on PC (2) and then visible on PC (1) although when trying to access same result time-out. Before a complete re-image has anyone ran into this problem? Is it a possible profile issue? Any help would be greatly
    appreciated!

  4. 1 PC times out entire network

    Hi xoda.

I would run a network reset.

Start => Settings => Network & internet => Scroll to bottom of right hand side =>Network Reset

This will cause your system to “Forget” your wireless passwords and you may have to reset any VPN or customized communication software if you use.

After you restart please ensure the appropriate driver is loaded for adapter, that is the correct manufacturer and not a Windows Generic.

Run the following four bolded commands. Use a Command Prompt(admin) or Powershell(admin)

Do not key in info in brackets, there for your information.

ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refesh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)

    One more restart and test.
