Windows 10: 100% CPU usage at all times

    100% CPU usage at all times


    I've been battling this issue for a few weeks now and nothing seems to have helped. I constantly have 100% cpu usage, no matter what programs are running. Even when I'm idling, I have 100% CPU usage that seems to be cause by "System Idle Process".

    Also, if I'm focused on a program, it uses all possible CPU that it can which hasn't happened before, at least to this extent. As seen here. (The link also has a screenshot of System Idle Process using CPU).

    I've tried multiple solutions, but to no avail. I've updated my drivers, disabled superfetch, changed power plans, updated windows, you name it. Nothing seems to work.

    I'm on an MSI laptop

    CPU: Intel i5 7300HQ

    RAM: 12GB 2400 MHz

    GPU: GTX GeForce 1050Ti 4GB

    SSD: Kingston RBU-SNS81523S3128GG6 (128GB)

    HDD: HGST HTS721010A9E630 (1TB)

    cpu usage at 100%

    CPU usage at 100% from start up for no apparently good reason. Service Host appears to be the problem but I cant narrow it down more than that at present.

    Any suggestions?

    I am using Windows 10 full release version 64 bit.

    Anniversary Update: Windows 10 CPU usage 100% All the time


    So I disabled Defender and search indexing completely.

    I did a clean boot minus TeamViewer because I have to use it to access my PC for now.

    CPU Usage 100%

    PC starts with 100% cpu usage. It won't come down even cpu is left idle. Cpu fan won't stop, when temp are normal.
