Windows 10: 100% disk usage after a fresh install

I had to re-install Windows 10 Home 64-bit less than a week ago because it was not updating. Now, task manager constantly shows 100% disk usage. I only installed Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and CrystalDiskInfo.


I COULD NOT OPEN ANY PROGRAM.

START MENU COULDN'T OPEN.

EVEN THE TASKBAR ICONS BECOME UNRESPONSIVE UPON HOVERING THE MOUSE.


My HDD is fine. I could not attach the screenshots that I took by pressing Winkey+PrtSc because the HDD is busy doing Windows 10 ****.


The processes that are using the disk the most amount of time:

• System
• Host Process for Windows Tasks
• Desktop Window Manager
• Service Host: ...
• Service Host: ...
• Service Host: ...
• Antimalware Service Executable
• ... some other system/windows processes
• Microsoft Store I never used it
• Films & TV I never used it
• Groove Music I never used it
• Cortana I have never used it, and I would never use it

What is Microsoft trying to do with my machine? Is it using it as a server to serve its clients and renaming its server processes as Windows processes?


Note: I don't want steps to open Windows "Troubleshooter" or whatever it is called It would probably copy my HDD to Microsoft's servers


CPU: Ryzen 5 2500u 4 cores 8 threads it's a laptop

RAM: 8 GB DDR4 2400 MHz dual channel 1.1 GB system reserved for Vega 8

HDD: 1 TB 2400 RPM Seagate I cannot tell the model number because device manager isn't opening, but it's perfectly fine

Windows 10 Version and Build Info: The version is 1909, but I can't tell the build because Settings wouldn't open.

100% disk usage on Windows 10

I have been having 100% disk usage off and on for several months. I have tried all steps from every suggestion I can find and nothing resolves the issue. I finally reset to a fresh install of Windows (wiping out all of my files and programs). Here I am
with nothing on this computer, two programs open (Task Manager and Chrome), bouncing between 22-100% disk usage. Please help! I'm at my wits end! I have a Intel Core i7-7500 CPU @ 2.75 GHz, 2tb hard drive and 16 GB RAM

100% disk usage and memory usage can be caused by a software corruption, running application running on the background and malware or virus infection.

For us to properly isolate the issue and provide an appropriate resolution, kindly answer the questions below:

• Did the issue happen after installing the Fall Creators?
• Did you receive any error messages?
• Can you send us the screenshot of the Task Manager showing the 100% disk usage and memory usage?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

100% disk usage

The most common cause of 100% disk usage appears to be Superfetch and Prefetch, but there are also other causes. You can try disabling both these features and see if it helps.
