    100% disk usage by SYSTEM(ntoskrnl.exe)


    I have a notebook which had preinstalled win 10 home single language. My device lags most of the time because of 100% disk usage by SYSTEM(ntoskrnl.exe). Most of the time this process consumes 100% disk making my HDD too slow. It takes about a minute or two to launch the games installed on my system. Opening File Explorer takes up to half a minute. I need a fix for this issue.

    Hey

    Thank you for the reply,but your suggestion proved no use to me still the disk usage remains 100 percent and my system lags in performance.

    100% disk usage

    The most common cause of 100% disk usage appears to be Superfetch and Prefetch, but there are also other causes. You can try disabling both these features and see if it helps.
