  1. 100% Hard Drive usage, 0kb/s read/write, 0ms response time

I've had an issue with my hard drive ever since windows startup performed a Disk Error check, and it makes it impossible to play games or use the computer regularly. This issue occurs at completely random times, most usually when doing anything strenuous on the hard drive. I have run a disk check and received zero errors, defragmented my hard drive and still retained the error, and so forth.

I am extremely frustrated by this issue, and would like to resolve it at soon as humanly possible.

    :)

  2. Hard Drive constantly at or near 100% read/write

Thanks for the suggestion. I see very little activity in the Network tab. I hope this helps.

    Disk usage 100%, read/write 0kbps

    Okay, so

Lately I've had crazy boot and load times, and what appeared to be disk issues (usage was 100%, read/write was little-to-none). Disabled a few things in services.msc (superfetch and windows search), which fixed the 100% constant usage.

But boot and load are unaffected. and i've also found that in games(Ark) and stress tests (prime95 blend), i can't get ram usage over 5.6/8.

I'm not sure if the problems are related. This is my first foray into 10forums, and my tech knowledge is limited.

any thoughts or suggestions? will provide details as needed

    100% Hard Drive usage, 0kb/s read/write, 0ms response time

Hard Drive 100% active time on every boot up, with very low read and write speeds, any help?

So I am running an HP laptop with a 1TB hard drive, a Hitachi 5400rpm drive. On windows 8 and on windows 10, nearly every boot up (from Shut Down and Sleep) causes my disk to have 100% active time and read speeds in the neighborhood of 3-10 MB/s, writes
of 5MB and often less. It becomes extremely slow and during this 2-5 minute period, taking an entire minute to launch any programs like Chrome. here is a coppied graph data from task manager, pay attention to active time, reads, writes, and respince times; Disk

    Read speed 9.4 MB/s

    Write speed 433 KB/s

    Active time 100%

    Average response time 18890 ms

Yesterday, I found a thread that could stop Windows Defender from hogging most of this problem, and altered it in resource manager, yet it STILL uses 30-70% disk activity on most every boot up. Task manager shows many different programs that would be easy,
background, small tasks, becoming a huge struggle and they too start to hog as much disk time as possible, when they should only use a few, maybe 10% disk time and my drive should be reading at 100 MB/s and writing at 90 MB/s.

    If anyone has a solution for this, it would be much appreciated. If anyone knows this as a hard drive failure, please let me know. Here is what a good Task Manager load looks like;
