  2. Ethernet speed capped at 100 Mbps

I have a Lenovo Legion T5 28IMB05, and my Ethernet connection is capped at 100 Mbps.

Things I have already tried and didn't work:

    • Switch to another cable. Originally, I had a CAT5e and as my speed was capped, I bought a CAT6. It didn't help (though I'm still using it)
    • Force the driver to use 1000 Mbps full duplex
    • Try my cable and router with another PC. It works
    • Try to boot from a live USB running Ubuntu 21.10. It also didn't reach full speed
The funny thing is that if a plug a USB Ethernet adapter (TP-link UE330), it reaches gigabit speeds with that cable and router; and then if I reconnect the cable to the Ethernet port on my PC, IT WORKS at gigabit speeds for as long as I have the PC turned on. When I restart, it goes back to 100 Mbps.

As of course, I prefer not to have to depend on a USB dongle to reach full speed on my network, what can I do?

  3. Windows 10 Upload speed capped at 100 Mbps

    Hi,

For some reason my upload speed is capped at 100 Mbps, it should reach 250 Mbps. I tried restarting in Safe Mode with network, and the speed was as it should be, but in normal mode it isn't. What else can I do?

    What I tried:

    1. Uninstall all network drives, and reinstall them;

    2. "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal"

    3. "ipconfig /release" + "ipconfig /renew"

    4. "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt"

    5. "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled" now it is set back to normal

Internet Connection Capped at 100/100 Mbps

    Hi there,

I have tried almost everything and I am kind of desperate about this, I will tell you first my configurations, then what my problem is exactly and finally I will tell what have I done to try to solve it.

Long story short, I contracted a fiber connection up to 400Mbps but the speed on my main PC is capped at 100/100 Mbps. My main PC has the next configuration:
    - OS: Windows 11 Pro (64 bits)

    - Motherboard: ASRock A520M Phantom Gaming 4

    - Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 4600G

(Do not know what else could be needed)

On this PC I get only as I said 100/100 Mbps. But I have an older laptop, specifically a DELL Latitude E6440 and I connect the cable to the Ethernet port and it register the speed I want which is almost 500Mbs of download.

So, this takes me to tell you what I have done to try solve this issue on my main PC:
    - Yes, my Ethernet Cable is well connected in my PC and in the router or modem. It works perfectly.

    - Yes, my Ethernet Cable works, it is a CAT5e and yes, I have tested it as I said in a laptop which takes the speed I am paying for.

    - Yes, I restarted multiple times my PC, the router, and the modem.

    - Yes, I tried a Wi-Fi connection, it takes up to 300Mbps, which is a speed I can deal with.

    - No, no viruses on this PC.

    - No, I am not using a VPN.

    - Yes, my Ethernet is enabled, and it works but just 1/4 of the desired capacity. (On this PC)

    - Yes, I have tried almost every single driver that has come to my mind, I installed the driver that ASRock recommends on this site ASRock A520M Motherboard , I have also downloaded drivers from Realtek Site, and specifically the Realtek RTL8111H which can be seen here Realtek Driver , I also installed a program called DriverEasy and it recommended me the version I have which is the 10.68.815.2023. But all those drivers work the same for me, they do nothing different.

    - Yes, I did reset my network settings.

    - Yes, I have ensured that my network card supports Gigabit Speed. I have checked the configurations of the driver and I have set it manually, auto negotiation and 1 Gbps full duplex, it works always the same. The same time I do this change, I go to the info of the ethernet just to check and it changes to 1000 Mbps but never sends or receive bytes, so after a few seconds it changes to 100Mbp, as always, with everything I tried so far.

    - Yes, I have tested Get-NetAdapter | SELECT name, LinkSpeed, fullduplex | ft -autosize on PowerShell receiving this as response:

    name LinkSpeed fullduplex

    ---- --------- ----------

    Ethernet 100 Mbps True

    - Yes, I have tested in cmd the netsh commads showed in this site :

netsh int tcp set global chimey=enabled

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

    netsh int tcp set supplemental

netsh int tcp set global dca=enabled

netsh int tcp set global netdma=enabled

netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=enabled

    - Also yes, to this command as well on the same site above:

    netsh advfirewall add rule name="StopThrottling" dir=in action=block remoteip=173.194.55.0/24,206.111.0.0/16

    - Yes. I have tried this series of commands showed in this question as well, which also are kinda like this question here :

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh int ip reset

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    ipconfig /flushdns

    - And finally yes, also this commands on this question. And also This other question.

So yeah, I have tried almost everything I have come up to, but there is nothing that helps me, so I am literally asking for mercy here, I am almost tearing out my hair.

Is there anything else I can try? Or do I give up? Is it my PC?

And as a final question, a new external network card could fix this issue? I mean I am desperate, if I have to test some other commands or configurations and they do not work, then I prefer to take another action, like the network card. But I do not know it this could solve the issue.

I have seen many questions like this and the vast majority of them have not an answer that solves the problem, so I have no hopes here. Even though, thanks for your help.
