  1. 100% usage on disk

2 days ago i downloaded a new game Playerunknow's battleground and noticed i was lagging really bad. I opened my task manager and my disk usage was at 100%. I closed everything and noticed my pc was doing things slow. My disk usage stays at 100% now and I do not know what to do. I ran some test and disabled some services that an article online suggested that helped others but does not seem to work for me. I was wondering if it is a good idea to uninstall all my drivers and download new ones. Please help me i really dont know what to do

    :)

  3. BSOD: CRITICAL PROCESS DIED

Before BSOD occur, my disk usage is 100% then suddenly it occur. It is not the case that every time when my disk usage is 100%, BSOD occurs.

    100% usage on disk

Check Resource Monitor to see what is using your storage I/O
    • Click on the Start button
    • Type Resource Monitor into the Cortana/Search entry and press Enter
    • Click on the Disk tab to see processes using storage I/O

That looks suspicious. System should not be that active with your disk usage. Mine is about 1/10th what you see, and it's mostly busy writing and not reading. Are you using any hard disk encryption software? Do you compress your drive to save disk space? Edit: Are there any Windows updates currently being installed?

Those are two three things I can think of that might legitimately cause System to start accessing the drive more. Otherwise, I'd suspect a possible malicious program masquerading as System.

Edit2: Check your Norton Security settings, too. It could be using System resources to monitor your system more thoroughly than intended.

  7. No I do not use any software or compress my drive. There is not any windows update at the moment.
I unchecked Disk optimization on tasks scheduling on my norton antivirus aswell.

I was also wondering, I tried installing some chipset drivers and nvidia drivers but when I ran the intel driver it said my system does not meet the requirements even though i went to my CPU and went to the drivers tab. Not sure if that can affect anything?

Where did you get the Intel driver from : the Intel site, or your motherboard site?

Your latest image shows System doing high write operations, so System seems to be your main culprit with its read/write usage. Is there a way to reset all Norton settings to defaults?

  10. yes i can restore all setting and I downloaded a driver from both. I am having a tough time remembering which ones in particular. Is it a good idea to delete all my drivers and reinstall the ones i need.

It depends on what issues you are having due to the drivers. If there are no issues, it is not necessary to update the drivers. Keeping drivers fully updated is not critical in my experience. I usually only advise updates if a particular driver is actually causing problems on the system or if the driver is not up to date with the current operating system. We're going far afield with this topic, though. That's really something you should focus on in the Drivers and Hardware section of the forums with a new thread.

I would recommend restoring all Norton settings to their defaults to see if it resolves your disk usage issue.

    100% usage on disk

No problem. In the event that Norton's defaults do not resolve the disk usage, follow the guide to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 10 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts and see if you can determine whether a service/process is causing issues. After step 7. in Part Two, check whether the clean boot resolved the disk usage before proceeding to step 11.
