Windows 10: 10130 On raw hardware

Yes, a clean install should find all your hardware (if there are drivers for it available). I just performed a clean install, and all drivers were found. I have done this dozens of times in virtual machines and all drivers were found.

I have never heard of the problem you are talking about. Where did you get your copy of Windows 10 to do a clean install? What build was it?

 

Its build 10130 the latest official release, I only get windows from the official sites because I use it as my main system and not on a virtual machine.

 

Where did you get your ISO? There is no ISO available for 10130 from Microsoft. Did you make one using the esd?

How exactly is that the official site? That's a leak site. Regardless, as David pointed out, there is an official ISO from Microsoft, so get it from there.

Well I’ve downloaded and installed the so called official build 10130 and it hasn’t made any difference what so ever, it can’t find any drivers unless I direct it to where the drivers are.

I even formatted my hard disk just in case the unofficial installation was causing a problem

If you are all doing a clean install and windows finds your drivers, there must be something wrong with my computer.

As I said the last time I had a problem like this was in MS Dos times

 

Are you going to Windows Update after you install?

 

The first thing I have to do is the driver for Netgear Wi-Fi and then the update, then when there are no more updates to be had, I have no choice but to install the rest of the drivers manually

 

If its unable to connect to the Internet then that's your issue. A lot of the drivers are installed via the internet/windows update. If your WIFI won't work just use a network cable. Then sit back and see if it finds the drivers. It might take a little while. Or just run windows update manually once your have an internet connection. If you don't want to use a network cable just install the WIFI driver. Then just give it a little time to see if it finds the other drivers.

 

When I did a clean install of build 10130 I had to manually install 4 drivers. I also had to manually install 3 drivers when I installed the first Win 10 build. For what ever reason build 10130 installed a generic driver for my video card and I had to download the driver from the NVIDIA site.
