    144hz monitor won't let me use 144hz after re-installing windows.


    Laptop: MSI G65 Thin 10SDR https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GF65-Thin-10SX-GTX/SpecificationMonitor: Samsung Odyssey G5 32"After re-installing windows on my laptop I can't use 144hz, when I choose 144hz in the monitor menu the screen fades to black and I have to reset the settings, since it wont let me change back, same goes for freesync. Before re-installing windows it all used to work, I installed all the drivers already, but maybe I missed something? Im not sure what the problem is. The hdmi Im using right now is the same that I used before. Im not sure what the problem is.I already tried changin

    144hz Monitor

    I have a 144hz monitor but when i checked the monitors optimal hz it said 60hz i can change the hz to 144hz but im not sure if ill damage the monitor

    You won't damage the monitor, you may lock yourself out of Windows, because the monitor will go out of range and you will not be able to see what you are doing . . .

    Honestly if that monitor has a refresh rate of 60Hz, there is no point in upping that to 144Hz, there is nothing to gain by doing so . ..
