Windows 10: 15 hours after adding extra RAM to Windows 11 Acer laptop, only a blank screen is displayed

Yesterday I installed 8GB RAM into my wife's Acer Aspire 3 laptop model A315-34 with Windows 11. Added to the 4GB it came with, it gives her a total of 12GB RAM. All was working fine for a total of 15 hours and then after being away from the laptop for 2 hours there is now only a blank very dark gray screen. Nothing happens when touching any key, including function keys. We tried several times turning it off and on, by holding the power key down, and the issue persists. My question is: Since all was working great for 15 hours, I assume the problem has nothing to

Confusing statement! You want to change the display on your laptop that died?

Is that correct?

How do you know its the display that's bad?

Just google "how to change display on a acer 5745"

Should get you to step by step instructions. But first make sure its the display that's bad

 

Display is blank after upgrade to 4GB of RAM

Could anyone please help me in the below problem
I had 2.5GB of RAM in HP laptop dv6226tx. OS - vista home premium service pack2.
The system works fine.
I upgraded to 4GB RAM(2*2GB). when upgraded to 4GB in bios able to see as ~3.33GB of RAM. I am able to see microsoft progress bar also, but after that the screen is blank and able to hear windows logon sound but no display. The screen is black.
When installed only the new 2GB of RAM the system work fine. So no problem with the new 2GB also. But with 4GB the screen is blank. I have nvidia GeForce 7400 graphics card. Is there any configuration need to be done in vista before installing 4GB of RAM?

I think the issue with your Acer laptop is that it could be the LCD on the laptop itself is either faulty or the ribbons that connects it to the mainboard came off or broke now,if it works on a external display then it must be either the screen itself of the laptop or the ribbons thats connecting to the screen of the motherboard hope this helps.
