Windows 10: 1703 clean install immediately gives 0x80070057 error

Currently, the latest BIOS for NUC DN2820FYK is Ver 0057 dated 3-Mar-2017. Now that you mentioned it, I checked and found out that I've been using it since 16-Mar-2017. :-(

It couldn't be it then. Darn. I've bookmarked that reddit link but. Thanks.

Sounds like you're okay with 1607 for now and aren't planning to try 1703 again any time soon?

i suspect that my issue is either BIOS or network driver related. Intel is quite good in releasing regular updates, best for me to wait before attempting to upgrade again.

 

Have same issue and after too many chats with Microsoft answer desk agents the last chat was with level 2 research engineer,
He told me that the issue is caused by the lack of drivers support of my laptop manufacture!!
It's Lenovo Z580 laptop and last drivers were for 8.1
Idk weather to believe him or not but he had a point when he told me that due to incompatibility issue I'm experiencing slow downs and I never told any agent about experiencing such issue!!
I would appreciate any advice you can offer

 

Mine also no longer has driver support from the manufacturer, and most recent drivers were Windows 7. So maybe it really is a driver issue. But if so, very frustrating, because the "old" drivers have been working fine with previous editions of Windows 10. And when I first installed Windows 10, the installer did a hardware check and said "compatible with Windows 10." Microsoft shouldn't be breaking hardware compatibility with its mandatory feature upgrades!

Artipax, I had the same problem on my NUC DN2820FYK. The fix is very simple, you need to insert the serial number of your NUC in the BIOS. Follow the instructions in this discussion at Microsoft Community:
After installing creator update, NUC failed with 0x80070057 on Win - Microsoft Community
I managed to fix my problems doing only the changes to the BIOS, using Intel Integrator Toolkit. No other troubleshooting required. Hope you can fix your problem as well.

 

finally your solution worked like a charm
yea it was bad serial number in bios.
flashing bios with correct data fixed that 0x80070057 error message.
can't understand why Microsoft did that and why now ?!!
