    1803 networking finally at peace

Two Thinkpads, a two year old custom-built tower from PC Specialist, and a 10 year old Medion tower. All these machines had arrived at 1803 via different upgrade routes but before 1803 arrived were perfectly happy chatting to each other, never an issue. Then came 1803, with all the problems that are being aired here. I spent days testing all the recommendations in these threads but the problems remained. Then, for one system that was an Insider, it was suggested I try an in-place upgrade to 1803.17134.191. OK, it did take hours on each machine but it was 100% successful. My network is once again fully functional and I'm a very happy bunny!

The machines had, for a time anyway, been in a Homegroup, though I had gone back to a Workgroup setup some time before 1803 arrived. Nevertheless I am totally convinced that my problems were caused by remnants of Homegroup that 1803 had failed to deal with.

    :)

Did our Epson printer get hacked?

Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.

  3. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    • Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    • Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    • Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    • Go to Settings.
    • Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    • Select add someone else on this PC.
    • Enter a user name and hit next.
    • Click on Finish.
    • Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
