Windows 10: 1903 Update Added US Keyboard - How do I remove it

I just installed the windows 1903 update and it seems to have added the US English keyboard, even though my system is UK English. I'm now seeing the language selector in my taskbar with two options, UK English and US English.


How do I get rid of the US English keyboard?

I would rather get rid of the keyboard rather than just hiding the selector, although the option to hide the selector seems to have been hidden / removed as well.


In the past this would have been a simple case of going to the control panel and going to language to remove the keyboard layouts that weren't wanted but this seems to have been removed with no obvious replacement in the settings app. When searching for a solution, every site I find has the old way, which has seemingly been removed.


The Windows display language is UK English, the preferred language is UK English (no others).

When I select the UK English on the language screen and click options, UK Qwerty is the only keyboard listed.


I've gone into the region settings from the control panel and checked that all the current user settings are all UK English as are all the Welcome Screen Settings and New User account settings; there is only one other user on this machine and it too has all UK English settings.


This is a persistent issue that Windows keeps reinstalling US English at every update no matter how many times I remove it and has happened on my old laptop, my Windows 10 tablet and now my brand new laptop, it would be nice if Microsoft fixed this issue - there is a world outside of the US!!

The updated Windows 10 may have detected your language, the reason why it automatically gave you the other Thai US keyboard. To correct this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Click on the Start Menu, type in region and language settings and select it.
• Under Languages, select Thai Kedmanee keyboard and click Remove.
• Lastly, add it back by clicking Add a language.

After these steps, your keyboard layout will permanently stay with Thai Kedmanee keyboard.
