Windows 10: 1903 update stuck when rebooting

Hi,


I have tried to install 1903 many times, each time trying something new and every time i get stuck on the manufacturer boot logo, i never see spinning dots etc. I can turn the laptop off and on again and it aborts the update thankfully.


I have tried:

Updating drivers

Unplugging all peripherals

Windows update troubleshooting

Disk cleanup

Downloading via media creation tool

Downloading via Windows insider update



All have not worked and not sure what to do now, any help?

Windows update, 1903

• my update 1903 has been stuck at 99% for 4 hours now. It say downloading. Yet nothing is. Has CPU maxed. Please advise

 

Stuck in Reboot loop after power cut

Hi,

We understand your concern and appreciate the time and effort that you have invested in to fix the issue.

Before we proceed, I would like you to state which troubleshooting steps have you performed bedsides the mentioned to fix the issue.

As per the description, I suspect that you might be stuck in a reboot loop. I suggest that you perform Power Drain and check if it helps

• Unplug the charger and remove the battery of your laptop, if using a desktop remove the power cord.
• Press and hold the Power button for 30sec
• Plug the charger/power cord and restart system

Windows 10 1903 update - resulting problems

Your suggested actions are very technical - hardly for 'the man in the street'

If I understand correctly, in simple terms, you are suggesting changing the path/method of obtaining the 1903 update but still installing it anyway -

Surely if the problem is actually with the 1903 update then the result will be the same problems irrespective of how it is applied?

Please could you clarify in simple terms, step by step, what your suggested actions actually do and how this may solve the problem.
