  1. 1909 Random Issues, Any Ideas?

I build a new PC back in August and pretty sure I was on 1903. Maybe 1809. Anyway, I updated to 1909 by accident back in November. And since there I've been experiencing random issues. One is a minor annoyance and one actually locks up my machine.

The first is on the login screen. I have a custom picture for the login screen sized at 2560x1440, which is the resolution of both of my monitors. However, on boot-up of my machine, the picture seems to be zoomed in on the picture and not showing the whole thing. However, when I lock the computer, the picture shows up correctly. There was never a problem before the update.

The second issue is occasionally when I wake up my computer from the screen saver, the machine will completely freeze and become unresponsive. I need to hit the restart button on my desktop to restart the machine. This never happened prior to the update.

Are these well-known issues? Or does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening?

  2. Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

    Steps to confirm issue:

    • Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
    • Secondary drive not visible in device manager
    • Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

    Steps to replicate issue:

    • Installing 1909 update

    Steps to resolve issue:

    • Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    random restarts

    Hi,

If a Windows computer random restarts, the device usually have some damaged system components. For us to provide an accurate solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which build, version and edition of Windows is installed on your computer?
    • What changes have you made to the device before this issue occurred?
    • What troubleshooting steps was already performed to your laptop?

In the meantime, it will be best to make sure that the latest update of Windows is installed on your device. If the same issue happens after installing Windows Update, we suggest running the power troubleshooter. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Open the Control Panel.
    • Using the search bar at the upper-right corner, type troubleshooting.
    • From the search results, click on Troubleshooting and then select System and Security.
    • Click on Power and then follow the prompts to successfully run the tool.

We are looking forward to your response.

Laptop freezes randomly - ruled out a hardware issue. Any ideas?: So one day I'm using my laptop and it just starts freezing out of nowhere.
