Windows 10: "2.4G Keyboard Mouse" Ghost device connects and scrolls infinitely.

I've had this issue for about a week or two now:Every time my pc sleeps, a device called "2.4G Keyboard Mouse" connects, is recognized by Windows as a keyboard using the basic driver and is "set up and installed."This device, when "installed," infinitely scrolls from what i can tell left / up. that's all it does -- volume sliders, windows explorer, etc. just scrolls up. Every time I remove it , it just comes back the second the pc goes into sleep mode.I've checked every USB port - no unused receivers are plugged in, and all my real, tangible devices work as expected.Windows Defender says I

Wireless Mouse connects as a keyboard

Hi there.

I've tried doing all of these steps, and it still doesn't work. I can see the device in 'Connected devices' in 'Settings'. It is listed as 'Microsoft Nano Tranceiver' but has a keyboard icon next to it. the mouse is a Microsoft Mouse 1850. This also occurs
with other wireless mice I have tried, and they connect but all have the keyboard icon next to them.

Microsoft 5050 Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Not Detected

Hi,
I have a new Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard 2000 now.
Tried what you suggested with an old keyboard, connected the new one and it's a bit better.
I stll get an error saying the 'MKCHelper.exe' file is missing.
I still can't uninstall/reinstall Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Centre, as it says it is on the PC, but is not listed in the list of software to uninstall.
When I slow the wheel scroll speed down, it works fine, but when I restart the PC I have to do it again, as it speeds up so much I can't control it.

 

Issues with the On screen keyboard and mouse pointer.

The issues with the mouse may arise due to driver conflicts and the issue related to the On Screen keyboard may be when the settings for the OSK are turned on.

For the On screen keyboard issue, I suggest you to follow the below steps.

  Type Ease of Access on the search bar.
  
• 
  Choose Ease of Access and click on
  Use the Computer without a mouse or keyboard option.
  
• 
  Check if the Type using a pointing device is turned on.
  
• 
  You may uncheck that option if it is turned on.
  

Also try the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + R and type
  Services.msc.
  
• 
  Scroll down to find the "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service".
  
• 
  Disable the option by right clicking on it.
  

For the Mouse issue:

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Hardware
and Devices.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

6. Check if issue persists.
