Windows 10: 2 different laptops very slow to re-connect to wifi after sleep.

Sometime in 2017 I noticed that my Dell Inspiron 3451 was not properly connecting to my access point after coming out of sleep. Most of the time it would auto reconnect but could take a minute or two to do it. My daughter reported a similar situation on her asus laptop at college.

I went in and made sure the wireless adapter power settings were not set to power down the wifi connection.

It's very annoying that when I open the lid, launch a browser and get a screen that says you are not connected to the internet only to have it start to respond a minute or two later.

I'm check to make sure i'm on latest drivers. Other ideas?

i have Nokia X6 16GB zitron orignal

wifi connected internet browser very very slow loading daam

i tested my laptop wifi also fast browser

but my nokia wifi connected to much slow internet browser then i download songs mp3 but download very very slow but my laptop wifi connected but download mp3 songs very fast max speed for few minutes but my nokia x6 keep 0% and wait 15min then now 1% to
much slow i checked my nokia x6 wifi signal is full no problem but always slow

so how to solve

 

WiFi Connectivity

"Slow Internet" and "Cannot connect to network" are different issues.

First to Solve "Cannot connect to network":

Turn off the wifi in your laptop using the Radio switch (generally Fn+F2 in dell)...turn it back on after 10 seconds. Now after you wifi network is detected wait for atleast 2 minutes. Now try to connect and check "Connect Automatically"

If this does not work, try updating your laptop's wifi driver

If problem still persists, consider changing your wifi card.

Second to Solve "Slow Internet":

Turn on Metered Connection

Click Wifi symbol-->Network Settings-->Wi-Fi-->Advanced Options-->Set as metered connection

This will prevent unwanted downloads by your device.

It tends to happen more with those who are using a Microsoft Live account (email), vs. just a local username.
