Windows 10: 2 factor authentication for windows 11 sign in with pin/windows hello

havent really found a definative answer doing a couple of searches im trying to have 2FA for my windows 11 signin for a personal account when windows loads up after i turn Personal Computer on.any help would be appreciated.

2 factor authentication question.

Windows 10 Sign-In options:

• Click on Windows Key
• Type Settings on search box and press enter to open it
• Click on Accounts
• On left panel click on Sign-In Option
• Following type of Sign-In Option are used in Windows 10
  • Windows Hello
    • Visit:
      Microsoft Support - "Windows Hello"
  • Password
    • A normal Live/Outlook/Work/Domain Password
  • PIN
    • A Pin is a Digit(0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) password.
  • Picture Password
    • You need to set a any picture and draw on it to open

• Click on Windows Key
• Type Feedback Hub on search box and press enter to open it.
• Add a new feedback

 

Microsoft Account set to use 2 Factor Authentication & Authentication Phone App but it doesn't prompt for authentication when signing in to my Windows 10 PC locally or remotely (via RDP).

OK I created a 2nd Microsoft account and setup the Authentication App on an old phone I had lying around for 2-factor authentication.

Step 1

I logged into this website with that account and it prompted me with the Authentication App so 2 factor is setup correctly on the NEW Microsoft Account.

Step 2

I logged in on my Windows 10 PC with that NEW account and it also DOES NOT PROMPT for 2-Factor Authentication.

I tried to log in via RDP and, again, it DOES NOT PROMPT for 2-Factor.

My question remains unanswered.

 

How To Create Two Factor Authentication for Remote Desktop

Hello artmanphoto, are you using the built in remote software that comes with windows 10 ?
I too use remote software, so can i suggest you change to one of the following.
Because the remote software that comes with windows is very insecure.

Anydesk
To use 2 step authenticator with anydesk go here

Teamviewer
To use 2 step authenticator with teamviewer go here


Splashtop
To use 2 step authenticator with splashtop go here


Radmin
Does not have 2 step authentication as far as i know.
But it does have IP Filter, very high security.

All 4 have very high security,
Anydesk, Splashtop & teamviewer all have so you can add two factor authentication with google authenticator.
Personally i prefer radmin
