Hello. I was installing drivers on the new laptop. When installing the Nvidia graphic driver I accidentally clicked Insert instead of the Install button screenshot 1. After that, my graphics card is displayed as ejectable as if it were a USB key. I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled, and uninstalled Windows - nothing helped. I also tried through Regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvlddmkm but SurpriseRemovalSupport field isn't shown there. Besides that 2 icons of usb device are shown in the 'Another icons in taskbar panel' section. How to solve this issue?

[SOLVED] Windows 8.1 Not Detecting USB Devices

It is possible you may need to run VIAO update, after your upgrade to 8.1, to check for new drivers and patches.

Edit: Also, have you gone to device manager and check the item in the menu "show hidden devices".
See if their are any problems, uninstall any usb devices, and their associated listings in the other sections of the device manager that should not be there.

If need be... try GhostBuster to remove any ghosted devices you need/want gone.

You may need to do a refresh of Windows 8.1 as a last resort.

The safely remove hardware icon usually appears when you have some sort if USB storage device plugged in.

If you click on the icon does it show any devices that can be removed ?

I did it but still it wont disapear.

Oh yes it does show it says usb mass storage device what is mass storage device anyway? On the window it have button "stop" next to the button "properties" Should I click the "stop" button? That might be the button that will make it disapear. oh wait.. on the very bottom of the window it says "display device components" should I check that box?
