Windows 10: 2 LAPTOPS-SAME ACCOUNT - 2ND ONE CAN'T LOG IN

We hve two laptops in the house, both have the same account, same password. Never had a problem. For the past week, one works just fine, but we can't log in to the other laptop. The password is always refused even if we tried changing the account pw numerous times. At the password prompt, the message shows "your credentials could not be verified" as the reason why the pw is rejected.I have been in contact with at least 3-4 different Microsoft technicians in 3 days. I've been sent codes by email - it didn't help - the codes were also refused. So many suggestions - not one of them worked

2nd User Accounts for Guests

How do I add a picture (NOT A PHOTO) in Windows 10 to a Guest, any Guest USER ACCOUNT or the 2nd User Account that I have set up for my guests in case they need to use my laptop to go on the internet?

I'm not asking about my, User Account, in which I have inserted a photo of myself.

Please provide a step-by-step solution if possible.

 

Suspended Account

Something similar happened to me. I set up a computer for a family member and when logging in on a secondary MS acct for support purposes, I incorrectly typed my password and was then asked to enter a code texted to a last 4 nos. that I didn't realize was a 2nd phone that I used for 2-step verification. So when I said that wasn't my backup number, the acct was auto-locked for 30 days, nothing to do but wait. At least the family member had a Local Account and was able to use the device until I was re-instated, whereupon I was able to sign-in and verify my 2nd step in the verification process.
If you used your land line as the 2nd step, I'm afraid, you're, likewise, locked out until the 30 day period is over. By then, either get a secondary email acct, as suggested, or a burner phone that takes texts so you're VERY clear as to what your 2nd verification option is. This is a case where having a Local Acct with admin privileges would be invaluable. Good Luck with your efforts.

 

Unable to log in to W10 laptop

Hi Ray,

I suggest you to press the tab key in the keyboard and then to the Ease of access and then select the on screen keyboard. After selecting the on screen keyboard I suggest you to type the password and then boot to the desktop. I would then suggest you to
check the mouse in different USB slots and then follow the below steps.

Un-installing and Installing Driver.

• • Type“Device Manager” on the search bar and then Enter.
  • Open Device Manager, expand “Human Interface Devices”.
  • Find and double-click the driver from the left panel to uninstall.
  • Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.
  • Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click OK to remove the driver.
  • After you have successfully uninstalled the driver, please go to the computer manufacturer’s website, download the Windows 10 driver for your computer and check.

Repeat the same steps from above but in 2nd step select the Mice and other pointing devices to reinstall the mouse drivers.
