Windows 10: 2 minutes on restart screen

I recenlty noticed that my windows 10 pc takes a lot to restart (stays more than 2 minutes on that restart screen with those spinning dots). Shutdown takes less than 10 seconds and starting from shutdown takes about 15 seconds, the only problem is that part of restart with that screen.

I tried disabling fast startup, unplugged external devices, restored the software distribution package, drivers are updated, bios is latest version for my laptop, performed a fast scan and offline with defender with no issues detected. (I will do a full scan tonight as it takes 4-5 hours in my case).

Any ideas? Has anyone encountered this issue?

Computer randomly has black screen and restarts

Taco this could be software also. Before you get all crazy, do as Erocker suggested. Find out the error in the Event Viewer. Look for the faulting module and the error code itself. Also check the reliability monitor. At the bottom it will have "View all Error Reports". Post a screen of whats in there if anything.

This could be a simple as a bad driver install.

ALSO have you downloaded or installed anything lately? STAY OUT OF THE DAMN BIOS UNTIL WE KNOW THE ERROR! lol. I know you. Baby steps boy, baby steps.

 

Windows 10 Logging off under 2 minutes of inactivity

I realize that the computer is logging off if it is under 2 minutes of inactivity. I will try to help you with this issue.

• 
  Is the issue specific to this user account?
  

You may run the Power troubleshooter and restart the computer to check if this helps.

• 
  Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Control Panel”.
  
• 
  Click on “Troubleshooting”.
  
• 
  Click on “View all” and select “Power”.
  

Follow the on-screen directions to run this troubleshooter completely. Once this is done, restart the computer and check the status.

Further you may also follow these steps to reset all default power plans to default settings:

• 
  Open a command prompt.
  
• 
  In the command prompt, type “powercfg –restoredefaultschemes” and press Enter.
  
• 
  Close the command prompt.
  

Remember to restart the computer to check if that helps.

Automatic Restart Every 2 Minutes

Hi All,

About 5 days ago I received a BSOD but I cannot remember what it was for (It may have been a Power State Failure). I would get the BSOD and then the computer would restart.

• I uninstalled the latest Microsoft Update (I believe it was a Security update). BSOD problem went away
• 2 days later my computer will turn on for about 2 minutes and then restart. About 2 seconds prior to the restart my cursor will freeze
• I tried to do a system restore but it did not complete
• Computer will not boot into Safe Mode (just hangs on the computer logo, Lenova)
• I am suspecting a potential virus due to being overseas and on an open network at the hotel. I did use a U.S. VPN when on the internet. I also downloaded some torrents, TV Shows, prior to the trip. Yes....a very bad idea
• I have not posted in a virus forum...this is my first one.
