    I have a PC with 2 HD. C drive is 250gb and is near full. D drive is 1000gb and only 1/3 full. I have moved all non programing data manually from c to d but I still need more space. again, all documents, music, data, etc. has been moved already. I am afraid to move any programs as they were installed on c and I know I can not just manually move them. The remaining data on C is Windows, AppData, Program files and User datamostly programs installed Is there someone out there that can help this 64 year old rookie??

    Moving OS to the separate hard drive

    I decided to install Windows 10 PRO on a separate hard drive. However, some
    of the software and apps installed on the other hard drives demand their files to be moved together with OS. Of course, some programs need to be located in the same place with OS. I want to get a notification if any of hard drives intend to edit
    or move the files to the place where the OS is located, or I just want to stop it. Can I do it?

    Move event logs to a separate hard drive?

    Are you talking about relocating them permanently like Macboatmaster suggested or a one time move of the existing set of logs to another drive while all new logs will continue to build up in the current location on C:Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller #?

    External Hard Drive

    Hi John,

    We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

    • Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
    • Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.
    The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.
