Windows 10: 2 WiFi networks, 1 laptop, 4 cameras.....

Kind of an involved technical question. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask.

I am running Blue Iris NVR software on a Windows 10 laptop. The built-in wifi adapter is 2.4ghz only. I added a 5ghz USB adapter. The 4 cameras are 2.4ghz only.

Currently, the cameras connect through my router. What I want to do is connect the cameras directly to the laptop through the built in 2.4ghz adapter and continue to use the 5ghz for out-going traffic.

Can this be done and, if so, how?

You can try these steps and see if it will make any difference:

• Power cycle

1. Turn off the phone then remove the back cover and the battery.

2. Reinsert the battery and the back cover then turn on your phone.

• Reset your camera settings

1. Go to Settings.

2. Swipe to Application settings.

3. Choose Photos+camera.

4. Select Reset camera.

Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
   
2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.
   

After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
Really hard to see any logic in this case.
