    I have 2 xbox wireless adapters for 2 pc's in my house after changing some fans on my partners pc hers stop working no [no light or no noise to say a device had be put in to the computer] we then tried mine in her pc the same thing happened so we try it in mine the same nothing was working and now the one from mine doesn't work either, have uninstalled the device to try and re-install but nothing comes up, the pc's don't recognise any of them, are they broken or is there a fix for this?

    Method 1:

    Step 1: Update network adapter driver from the device manager by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

    • Press Windows key + X keys on the keyboard and click on
      Device Manager from the options.
    • Expand the Network adapters from the options.
    • Right click on the wireless network card and select Update option.
    • Restart the computer and check if the changes are effective.
    Step 2: If the issue persist, I suggest you to uninstall the network adapter driver from the device manager by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.
    • Press Windows key + X keys on the keyboard and click on
      Device Manager from the options.
    • Expand the Network adapters from the options.
    • Right click on the wireless network card and select Uninstall.
    • Restart the computer for automatic installation of network adapters and check if the changes are effective.

    To better understand the query, please answer the following questions:

    1. What is the make and model of the wireless adapter?

    2. Are you referring to updating the Wireless display adapter?

    If so, I would suggest you to visit the manufacturer's website and check if there are any updates available.

    However, you can try the steps below and check if you are able to update it manually from the computer.

    1. Press Windows key + R.

    2. Type devmgmt.msc and press enter.

    3. If the wireless display adapter is listed, expand it.

    4. Right click on the driver and check for updates.

    • Since when did the issue started appearing?

    • Have you made any changes in settings prior to the issue?

    • Do you see any error code or error message on the screen?

    As a work around, I suggest you to perform the below mentioned troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Run Network Adapter Troubleshooter.

    Follow the steps given below.


    • Type troubleshooting on search box present on the task bar.

    • Select Troubleshooting.

    • Select View all on the top left corner.

    • Run Network Adapter Troubleshooter.

    • Follow the onscreen steps.
    Check for the issue.

    Method 2: Uninstall and then install the network adapter and then check if it helps.


    Step 1:

    Follow these steps to Uninstall Network Drivers.


    • Press Windows key + X and select
      Device Manager.

    • Search for Network Adapter and expand it.

    • Right click on the Network Adapter
      and select Uninstall.

    • Follow the onscreen steps.
    Step 2: Reinstall the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

    Go to the manufacturer’s website and then download the latest network driver. Once you have successfully downloaded the driver you can install the driver.
