Windows 10: 2018-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 install problem

I have attempted to install this update multiple times, clicking the "restart now" button in Windows Update, but after the system reboots it says the update wasn't installed.

I downloaded the installer from Microsoft to install it manually, but when I run the file it says the update is already installed! Not sure how to proceed. TIA for help with this.

see how frustrating that is? even the update troubleshooter won't fix it. It's been going on for weeks.

 

Windows Update failure

I'm getting the could not complete the updates.... message.

Here's my update history - looks like it did install.

Why does it appear it's trying to install the same update again and failing?

2018-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 based systems (KB4074588)(4)

Requires a restart to finish installing

2018-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 based systems (KB4074588)

Successfully installed on 3/4/2018

2018-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 based systems (KB4074588)

Successfully installed on 2/20/2018

Then below that is a similar string with the 201-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for amd64-based Systems (KB4048955) (20)

First one says Requires restart and then the next one says successfully installed on 2/17

 

At this time you may be able to upgrade to Windows 10 version 1803.
Can you attempt the upgrade and report the results into the thread?
If there are any Windows upgrade error messages or error codes please place them into the thread.

Update the specs in the "My Computer" section:

Include PSU. cooler, case, peripherals and anything attached to the computer by wired or wireless (mouse, keyboard, headset, printer, xbox, USB wireless network card, etc.)
