Windows 10: 2018-06 Dynamic update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4230204)

Hi


This update "Failed to install on ‎01/‎08/‎2018 - 0x80240034". It may have also failed before that as well.


Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 has failed to install numerous times. The last error code was 0x8007042b. It fails on the re-boot.


But only the feature update is showing as available to install.


Does the Dynamic update have to be done first? If so, how do I do it?


The troubleshooter says Windows update components must be repaired. How do I do that?


I've also tried https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors


I followed all the steps up to and including the Media Creation Tool. But that failed to install the feature upgrade. Again, I'm left wondering whether it's because the dynamic upgrade is showing as failed.


I'm loath to try the clean install as I've now spent a good few days on this and I'm reaching the end of my tether.


While all this has been going on, my laptop is painfully slow and tends to freeze.


So summarise, I have four problems that may or may not be related and may or may not be in the right order.


1. Update components must be repaired.


2. Dynamic update failed but is not shown as ready to install.


3. Feature update keeps failing.


4. Slow laptop and freezing.


I am not good with this sort of stuff and don't understand computers. I'd really appreciate some advice in simple terms.

Hi! This update, 2018-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4284835), can't complete its installation despite several restarting. How do I fix it? Is this update necessary? Thanks.
