Windows 10: '2018-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4464218)'...

As mentioned in the subject line, this update keeps failing with error message "0x80073712" -- So the exact message:


Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error Code: (0x80073712)



Even downloaded the update manually and tried installing but manual update failed as well.


Have tried many solutions mentioned over the internet, including the below:


net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver


Ran the sfc /scannow as well, and it repaired the corrupted files which were found but then again no success with installation of update.


Also, at the end -- I finally reset my windows 10 even hoping that whatever the issue was, it would be gone after resetting the PC but no.



To add, this happened on both of my laptops. For one of them, after a few attempts it just automatically finished the update (nothing special I had to do) but for the other laptop i have been struggling since yesterday and sadly, kept getting same results. Any help with this would be appreciated.

2018-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4103721) has been a pending update in my system upate center for 2 weeks but never downloads...any ideas?
