Windows 10: 2022-08 Windows 10 Update Error

First, me: I am recently retired from 30 years as a UNIX/Linux/Windows System Admin. So please, stay technical, factual, and avoid all those "I heard that maybe..." theories. Thank you!Now, my issue: I have not been able to install the "2022-08 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64-based Systems KB5012170"The update has been downloaded to my machine successfully, but every installation attempt throws an error: 0x800f0922I have combed this site, quite literally for days, and tried every single suggested fix that I could find.Does anyone out there - and preferably an MS staffer -

Install error - 0x8000ffff

could you please help resolve it

we tried multiple times but the error persists

and since its too technical we don't even know the consequences of missing this updates
