Windows 10: 2023-05 Cumulative update will not install

I am trying to install update 2023-05 KB5026363 update. The download process takes place, but at the point of install, I keep getting the error message "Error 0x80070005 Access Denied, I believe. I have trying stopping and starting service. renaming the SoftwareDistribution folder/Caroot2, but nothing seems to be helping. Can you provide additional options to try in order to get the update to install. Thank youWindows Server 2016 Standardversion 1607O/S build 14393.5850

Usual fix for that is an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data like any 'upgrade' procedure.

I seem to recall that was suggested in your previous thread.

Tutorial available, and I've posted a 4 step short-form procedure many many times.

Were you to search tenforums for 0x800f0831 you might find e.g.

The 2023-05 cumulative update wont update it keeps failing. I have tried to open windows update troubleshooter and it says unexpected error occurred. Can someone please help me with this.
