Windows 10: 20h2 update failed - 0xc1900101

Failed to install on ‎17/‎04/‎2021 - 0xc1900101 - this is 15th time my pc has autoupdated and then failed to install 20h2


steps taken:

1. media creation install

2. update drivers

3. antivirus uninstalled

[COLOR=rgba32, 33, 36, 1]7. have 40gb available ssd[/COLOR]

[COLOR=rgba32, 33, 36, 1]8. no drive encryption[/COLOR]

[COLOR=rgba32, 33, 36, 1]9.change the service startup[/COLOR]


[COLOR=rgba32, 33, 36, 1]all failed [/COLOR]

[COLOR=rgba32, 33, 36, 1]my current version is windows 10 home - 1909v [/COLOR]


i am at a loss and now my pc just randomly now will forever show disks hidden partitions randomly after restarting due to update patch failing to fix the update failing.

Dear community,

I am getting the 0xc1900101 error for a few month already when trying to update my Windows 10.

I tried with the latest feature update to windows 10 version 20H2 today and the problem still remains.

I tried a lot of solutions found on the internet to solve this issue, but none of them worked:

At about 60% of the update, it fails, and Windows rolls back to its previous version.

Any tip on how to get more insight about this error and find a way on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
